cold breakfast August 12, 2008

yesterday my body temp was way up and i think it was because i had hot hot oats for breakfast. so today i had half a cantaloupe (that i chopped up last night in my motivational kitchen frenzy)

it had been in the fridge so it was nice and chilly. and blurry, too, apparently. to supplement i had 1 heaping cup of kashi h2h with a dash of apple oh’s and a small sliced banana in 3/4c. of soymilk

i had all that around 830 and exactly 3 hours later at 1130 i had this cherry pie larabar

and i’m trying not to be hungry again ’til 130 because it just seems like a good time to eat lunch. i packed a can of amy’s lentil vegetable soup and some true north pistachio crackers. lentils usually keep me full for a long time so we’ll see what happens because i already ate the only snack i brought.
scandalous! August 1, 2008
is cheese-less pizza. i still ate all of it.

red bell peppers, zucchini, and leeks. scrumptious.
before we left for the restaurant i had a bite of this larabar

and a handful of these honey-sesame cashews

so that i wouldn’t be ravenous by the time we finally got to eat. it didn’t really work all that well. i never promised perfection, just a concerted effort to eat vegan. i can honestly say i’m pretty happy with my progress and i didn’t even miss the cheese. my stomach feels the same though.
snack attack June 4, 2008
i’ll just pick up where i left off because i’m horrible at keeping up with this blogging at night. i mentioned i had hoped i was done snacking yesterday after the trail mix but it wasn’t to be. i really felt like i needed something more substantial and carb-y pre-workout. luckily, there’s also a trader joe’s in the plaza next door to this office building so i made a pit stop before spin class/boot camp. i chose two bars to try, a clif z bar in chocolate chip and a larabar in apple pie. i ate the z bar before spin. probably too soon before working out because i could feel it sitting in my stomach but that’s what i get.

however, it didn’t stop me from getting the munchies immediately afterward. it was a 90 minute workout after all. or maybe i just really wanted to try the larabar and i knew it was sitting in my purse. either way, i ate it. and it was delicious. and it kept me satiated enough to tackle the grocery store. my rule is i’m not allowed to shop for food if i’m hungry.

i was very impressed, i’ll be buying these again in the future. the clif bar i could take or leave.
